AGROCAST®: THE APPLICATION DEDICATED TO SMART AGRICULTURE
CLIMATE SMART AGRICULTURE
In agronomic activities, and in particular in precision agriculture, the availability of reliable and consistent meteorological data makes it possible to optimise choices, actions, and results, applying modular and proportionate responses to specific situations, with benefits in terms of effectiveness, resource savings, and environmental impact.
In most cases, the data provided by meteorological services is adequate; however, often (due to irrigation, treatments), more detailed information may be required, information which is obtained by refining the representativeness of existing weather data or by using dedicated sensors (e.g. to measure solar radiation, ground or soil temperature).
Often, the meteorological data thus acquired contribute to the operation of other systems, for example:
- IoT solutions for automatic activation of agricultural tools (e.g. precision irrigation).
- definition of indices of plant condition.
